It appears the return of the World Cup of Hockey may be delayed by one year. Sources tell TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun the international tournament will likely return in September 2016 rather than 2015. "We see international competition on the horizon; its really just a question of what the format will be," said NHL commissioner Gary Bettman during the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. "The World Cup is a piece of an international presence that we want to have," added NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly. The tournament will likely be a one-city event as opposed to having the games spread over multiple venues like the past.
